Automatic inference of SI units

It’d be nice if there were a transform: "si" or units: "si" scale option that automatically computed the appropriate SI units based on the associated channel values, and used this to apply a scale transform and append the appropriate units to the scale label. Ref. #1612 (comment), where the appropriate units are 1e6 (micros) and the scale label should have “ (µ)” appended.
