Hello everyone, I’ve been writing Go for half a decade and have been sporadically learning Rust on the side for a couple of years. I am here to learn from the Ockam codebase and collaborate with other engineers in the community. I am looking forward to participating in the discussions and evolution of the project. |

Hello everyone. So cool to see this integrated chat within Github! I've been looking for a solution for https://blockchainforsocialimpact.com/ that isn't yet another platform. Have been considering Discord and other open source slack alternatives like mattermost. The biggest issues I see are: 1) where are your users? 2) how can you meet them there with least pain on your side and their side? |

Hi, I'm Pat. I've worked in a variety of industries, with embedded work performed in biological/environmental sciences, and currently additive manufacturing. Like so many systems, these are also increasingly moving to the edge, and trust is a fundamental need for this move to be successful. Correctly implementing trust is hard, and I'm hopeful tools like Ockam provide the needed simplicity to make trusted systems the norm. I'm also actively learning Rust and have a general interest in cryptography and IoT. Hoping to learn alot as the project grows! |

Hi there, I'm Ben - I am embedded software engineer and have worked on products in the IoT, consumer, and aerospace sectors. I stumbled across this project and I am interested for two reasons:
Here are my current curiosities - no pressure to answer though if things are still WIP!
Thank you! |

Howdy, I'm a systems software engineer with experience writing distributed systems using Rust. I've done a little bit of work with embedded systems in the past. Looking to contribute to the Ockam community-- happy to sign a CLA and start working on some of the 'help wanted' issues. I noticed a ZigBee transport implementation issue; I've done some work with the ZigBee protocol in the past and have a few ZigBee modules for Raspi I can play with. Just let me know how best to get started! |

Hey there 👋, currently working on getting the first public release of https://yatta-lang.org (alpha version) out by the end of next week, hopefully. I'm interested in distributed systems and programming languages, Yatta combines the two interests of mine in a simple concise language, that aims to simplify making software, especially in relation to concurrency, while being very productive by providing interoperability with Java, Python, Ruby, whatever else runs on GraalVM. Dynamic languages should make writing code simple and fun and that goes for concurrency as well. Anyway, Ockam seems like an interesting place, I'd be happy to learn more about it. |

Hi Team Ockam, Building in Python (mostly) and C for almost 4 years; I am drawn to Ockam for it's mission statement: security for IoT. I am here to learn more about the codebase of Ockam and what it offers as a product. Exciting time! -Asif |

Hello. I'm Frederico, a self-taught software developer knowledgeable about cryptography in general. I was concerned about security about four years ago, but now I take it seriously to the point of it being a paranoia. I have been hacked in such a way that it has left me with a lifetime trauma. The firmware of the hard disk of my computer has been compromised, leaving my computer consistently open for attacks, even if I do a clean install of any operating system. I have lost two motherboards as a result of an attack that aimed at erasing the BIOS chip. This made all of the security of the operating system completely useless, so the discussion should be how to make firmware more secure, and not which operating system to support. I wish others would take security more seriously without the need to go through what I went through, but the most powerful adversaries hide their best cards, only using them when required. This misleads people into thinking that everything is OK, all is secure and working fine when it's not. Your enemies will gladly let you fall into your false sense of security, so that may have an easier time when then do need to attack you in order to blackmail you or deny services for you, effectively placing you into a cyber-siege, a digital blockade. |

Hello all, I am Shwetha. I work on embedded software development and IoT. I believe security solutions for IoT are the need of the hour. I find Ockam's approach innovative. I am keen on understanding how Ockam's solution can be used for developing secure embedded applications on various development boards like Raspberry Pi and Dragonboard. Look forward to learning more about the products. |

Howdy!!! A former firmware engineer here who's spent the last few years leading opensource programs for a big company. Now, I need something fun to do with my time. Just started learning Erlang (visions of Prolog in college dance in my head). Will jump in as I get more confidence. Do point me, like any "newbie", in a direction for even the most basic learning opportunity. Despite what my wife says, I can be trained. ;-) |

I was around here during the slack days. Presently, I am working to get the P-256 public key from the ATECC508A cryptochip to work with a python library on my laptop. It tells me it is not on the curve. Oh well. At least I am learning a lot about cryptography. I'm posting this in case someone knows, or knows where to look. |

Thanks, @bshambaugh, I've been trying to build things and have struggled a bit. Will wait for your video before asking more questions. |

Hello everyone, I am a system software engineer. I had to come up with my own solutions to many of the problems(e.g., authorization, secure communication) Ockam addressing in connected devices. I like how Ockam addresses these problems holistically. I also like the fact that it is an open-source project and getting implemented in Rust. Looking forward to contributing to the development. |

I'm Shelton Tang. I've worked in a variety of industries, such as telecom or finance. Recently I'm building IoT zero trust solution for my clients. I have c++/erlang experience but little in elixir and rust. I'm be happy here to study interesting things and work with other engineers in the community. Thanks. |

Hi, Adrian here. I'm a rust developer and I've been working with distributed systems for the last couple of years. I've been looking forward to getting involved in an open-source project for a while now, and this project aligns pretty much with my professional and personal interests, so I'm basically here to learn, help and contribute! Thank you all and see you around! |

Hello. My name is Andres and I have been working with kubernetes, aws, k3s, karpenter, terraform, ci/cd and several other devops tools in my daily role as Cloud Engineer. I started with Rust more than a year ago and I have used it to create some tools, mutating webhooks and automation. I wanted to start contributing to open source and I found that ockam project is well documented and structured that will allow me to learn and at the same time add value with my skills. Thank you so much for open this space! |

Hi - I've worked in OSS projects on and off for a while, and like it when I find well maintained, well documented projects that I can help contribute to. I've been in Elixir for a few years now, and look for projects that I can participate in and get good feedback on, so thanks for making this space available! Warmest regards! |
