  • Create a GitHub account (you should already have one if you are about to check this box :)
  • Sign into ChatGPT: https://chat.openai.com/chat
  • Sign into Claude: https://console.anthropic.com/
  • Ask ChatGPT and/or Claude for help completing this checklist and copy and paste it, or to walk you through it
  • Install a package manager (Chocolatey for Windows: https://chocolatey.org/install or Homebrew for Mac: https://brew.sh/)
  • Execute the following command on Windows Powershell app: choco install anaconda3 copyq powertoys vscode zulip figma or in the terminal app on Mac: brew install --cask maccy rectangle anaconda visual-studio-code figma zulip, and follow the prompts onscreen. Read about these tools and packages if you feel like it.
  • Activate GitHub Student Developer Pack: https://education.github.com/pack
  • Install the Copilot extension for Visual Studio Code: https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=GitHub.copilot
  • Sign into Visual Studio Code to activate the GitHub Student Developer Pack
  • Go to https://www.figma.com/education/ and click on Get Verified to activate Figma for Education, then open the Figma app to verify you have access
  • Open the Zulip app and sign in, and then:
    • Post a message in the General stream, in a topic called "intros" (https://datathinking.zulipchat.com/#narrow/stream/345278-general/topic/intros) saying (1) what you hope to get out of this data thinking bootcamp, and what experience you have with data thinking, AI & machine learning, statistics, mathematics, and computer science and programming. If you are new to all of this, that's great too! We just want to get a sense of where everyone is starting from :) and (2) post your LinkedIn profile (create one if you don't have one yet!).
    • Ask on the Zulip chat if you run into any trouble, have any doubts or questions. Please include which task you were trying to complete, what you tried, and don't worry about asking ChatGPT and/or Claude too many questions or for help as much as possible!
