OpenGitOps GitHub org has a default community health files repo (here), which includes a default CONTRIBUTING.md. This default CONTRIBUTING.md file contains all important contribution info, including Licenses and Copyright, informing folks they need to add DCO sign-off to any commits considered for contribution.
However, the documents repo has an override file here, which doesn't point to the default or mention DCO at all (or other important things from the default file). This is bad form, and we need to fix it.
proposed solution
In the repo-specific override file, link to the org-wide default file at the top. Then the rest of the file will be specific to just this repo
we could even highlight the fact that commits need DCO, and to see the upstream contributing file for details.
