From Jake:

I tried writing a md file and then converting it to PL. Most the E&M problems require Greek characters for symbolic problems. As you know, I was able to use Unicode characters for this purpose when writing PL problems. However, the conversion process (md to PL) corrupts the Unicode character only in the question.html file. The server.py file is fine. The source md file and the resulting question.html file are attached. I tried a bunch of different ways of entering mu under the “## Question Text” heading:

Just copying and pasting the actual Greek character as has been done in the “server:” section
Using μ
Using \03BC
Using μ
Using U+03BC

So far I haven’t found anything that works. The rest of the problem works fine (including the grading of the symbolic answer containing a Unicode character). Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks,
