Feature Request

As a dev that uses the demo to build and test new releases, I'd love to have a way to start the demo without Kafka.
The Kafka service takes ages to start, and building, starting, stopping and repeating is just too slow because of Kafka.

If I could start the demo without it, that would save me a lot of time.
