As per spec matrix, the jaeger exporter must support sending data over gRPC:

Jaeger exporter currently supports sending spans to agent over UDP in thrift format and collector over HTTP in thrift format. When exporter is configured with both agent and collector it just exports to collector. The protos needed to support via gRPC are here. I think this needs collector and model protos.

@codeboten this is my understanding of jaeger exporter and what needs to be done, can you elaborate bit more about this? I would like to pick this up.
