Following on from discussion in #653, a valid question was raised: "isn't the mysql instrumentation noisy?" And - the answer is yes; database driver instrumentation can be very noisy.
I'm curious what others have to say about this question: What kinds of knobs / configuration would you want to see for database driver auto-instrumentation?
My primary concern is "how can we make this less noisy and more useful for people," but I'm interested in all configuration options that might make sense.
