we can calculate Pc(s) during stats computation. We'd need chromsizes (can take from pairs header, or supply an external file) and centromeres/gaps (can take from a curated database/online/external file).

What are the updates on this issue? Isn't that covered now by P(s) calculation in the current form? @golobor
Or is the idea that we also want to normalize by the chromosome size?

I think the idea was indeed to include chromosome sizes into the equation. And maybe give some flexibility, like smaller bin size...

Okay, if that's now a mature idea, maybe we can convert it into discussion? Let's wait for others and if there are no other thoughts, make it an open discussion

pairtools scaling is out for testing: #117
Future improvements for it:

  • parquet output instead of tsv
  • transfer of view/region tables to bioframe's viewframe

Both of them will require additional dependencis to pairtools, which is better to avoid for the 1.0.0 release.
