Sorry I missed this one, but I just looked through the recording. I just wanted to clarify that performance was not a major factor in deciding to move Blockstore from service to app, and it's not explicitly mentioned in the ADR. The fact that Blockstore stores immutable data and is backed by S3 makes certain kinds of scaling and caching much easier to do upstream. We haven't really done any serious performance tweaking to Blockstore itself and it currently runs on extremely modest hardware.
