The objective of this task is to decide how to move forward with a community-owned standard installation method: what technologies will be used, will any existing projects be used (such as Tutor), etc.

  • Find out if creating a new work group is necessary. (Answer: no.)
  • Invite stakeholders to contribute to the initiative
  • Establish criteria for a successful reference deployment method (Done in the ADR.)
  • Discover if Tutor meets, or can be expected to meet, the above criteria
  • If not, propose a way forward with stakeholder consensus

The resulting ADR is currently undergoing community evaluation:

Spoke to @regisb today about deploying Tutor to k8s and scaling it. I think I have enough to build a decent case in the ADR.

@regisb, as for the Tutor Maintainer's Program, is there anything missing for you to finalize it? Do you expect the proposal to change in the near future? Otherwise, I believe the group can start to make noises that we'll accept it provisionally for the Lilac release cycle.

@arbrandes I was actually working on the tutor maintainers program last week and I expect to finalize it this week. Many people have applied already, and I'm eager to get started!

@arbrandes Who is owning this task now? Is this something you have handed over to someone else?

@antoviaque, this is actually done, now. After all, the criteria have long been established and reviewed. I just missed closing it. (Thanks for the ping, though.)
