In TOP my system shows

185.5 buff/cache

whereas arcstat/arc_sumary shows, that my arc is at 4.8 GiB

since arc is some filesystem cache which can be freed on demand to allocate more ram to processes, i wonder why it doesn't get counted as buffers/caches, as filesystem cache normally iss counted for

this leads to weird accounting issues, e.g. proxmox is always showing the wrong ram utillization in webgui, becaus it does not (yet) handly separate arc accounting. and so do other tools....
