The proposed enhancement would make it easier to flag which or when recipes were created (and the corresponding zim permalink) so that we can more easily communicate on the week/month's releases (as opposite to updates, which are less informative).

I see two different things.

First, zimfarm displaying the list of recipes by creation date is information that can be useful because right now it's impossible to know what was added.

As for what you want, a cleaned list of content (mostly matching recipe) with permalinks, that's a CMS feature.

@kelson42 what do you think? I'm in favor of opening this ticket on cms but would could keep that one for the date thing in the zimfarm as well if you see value. Actually, we should add the dates on the recipes, even if we don't display/sort with it for now.

I don't understand the ticket sorry. There is so many different things in these two sentences, and they are not related to a large extend. I don't understand the fundamental weakness/problem with what we have currently either.

@kelson42 Basically from discussing with the advisory board they supported the idea of having a weekly/monthly newsletter saying "here are the newly available contents on Kiwix" (could also be posted on Twitter/our blog). In order to do so, we first need to be able to produce that list.

@Popolechien Do we talk about updates? or new offline content? Should that be an automatic process?

@kelson42 New offline content only (updates are already a given, in way). As automated as can be.

To me clearly something related to the CMS.

@rgaudin @Popolechien I have maybe now a clearer view of what we could do. I'm in favour of introducing a concept of "NEW book" at the CMS/Library level. This would be a boolean attribute of a "title" to be set. We could imagine many ways how this could be made visible on UIs (via a badge, have a dedicated filter, etc...).

Beside the ability of putting it manually in the CMS, we could imagine an heuristic to enable/disable this tag. For example for any new title during a period of X months.

Does that would respond to the feature request?

Pretty much. I think the tag could go down after X months or as soon as an update is released (which basically means that X could be one month).
I still think it's important to indicate the creation date on the dashboard somewhere, to be clear.
