Describe the bug

I install OPNSense latest a configure WAN PPPOE

The IP on WAN_GW is Wrong is not the real one, but in the console is right i read in OPNSense Forum

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Install OPNSense on Proxmox
  2. configure PPPOE with DIGI on Spain
  3. The WAN_GW got a... MAN Address maybe?
  4. See error

Expected behavior

the WAN Gateway Address must be the same as the PPPoE Address

Environment

Software version used and hardware type if relevant, e.g.:
Server R730XD with Proxmox
OPNsense 24.7.12_2 (amd64).
CPU: QEMU Virtual CPU version 2.5+ (4 cores, 4 threads) [Proxmox Machine]
Virtual Network: VirtIO Network 10GB
Network in server: Intel 4x1GB in Server

It's not always the case you get same pppoe address as wan address, depends on the provider and there setup.

Have this all the time in UK with BT, it's unlikely OPNsense.

In the command line, the interface IP address is shown: 79.117.238.39/32
The Gateway defines where the traffic should be routed to upstream. Your provider seems to use 10.0.1.247 as next hop.

If interface IP and next hop would be the same, there would be a routing loop.

But this is a information widget, i think for most of the people is more usefull to show the ip than you identify on the net,i think that this must to show the Wan address of that gateway instead of the next hop, that i think the 90% of the users of OPNsense doesnt matter the next hop in a random macrolan of the city than they live
