  • don't ask for anything when landing on http://localhost:8080/orbeon/fr/orbeon/builder/new
  • app/form names are not required to save
  • app/form names are required to publish
  • form settings can keep app/form names, but they are not required there
  • publish dialog could also present app/form name ("your form will be published this these app/form names")
  • by default, load library with "orbeon" library

Benefits:

  • more user-friendly
  • gets rid of Cancel/Close button in that dialog

Drawback:

  • controls library may not have proper library loaded BUT could pass e.g. ?app=foo in URL for integration purposes

The last point is taken care of by #2245 / Orbeon Forms 4.10.

New issue #6518 is a little bit different, but it aims at the same thing. I don't think we want to not show a dialog at all, except when using URL parameters (#2245), so that users can at least select their starting template.

With #5495, we will load the global library no matter the app name, so that takes care of that.

So closing this as duplicate of the new, more encompassing issue #6518.
