Question about the Editor role

Morning,

Can a user with the Editor role approve or reject merge requests? I have a user who is assigned the Editor role and he has been asked to review some content by a colleague. When he goes into the merge request he has no option to approve or reject the request.

I don't want to change his role to reviewer because this would also give him merge capability.

Hey @krakenhaze,

Right now Reviewers can review and merge CRs. Editors can only create CRs but not review or merge.

I'm going to raise it internally to see if we can find a solution because I do think it's a bit counter-intuitive.

Thanks @emmerich - I agree - it would be great to change the reviewer role to just have the merge option because that merge right is the main one we need to restrict to a handful of people to ensure content quality. ie: content is reviewed before being merged.

Although, the role name may need to be changed to Publisher! Then Editors can edit and review content which is fine.
