GitHub Sponsorships and Patreon Support

One of our goals is to enable a value-for-value model for civic volunteer contributors to receive recognition for their efforts, perhaps in financial form.

GitHub has recently announced support for Patreon integration, which might be one interesting connection between members of our communities and contributors to our projects, whether individual or team. Given the general acceptance of Patreon as a support platform for content creators, it may be appealing as an avenue to engagement with our public to support our efforts.
