UnitTestBot new features and possible application ideas

Here are several ideas for new UnitTestBot features. They were produced in the conversations with UnitTestBot developers and collaborators.

UX capabilities:

• update already generated tests - when user code has changed
• analyze existing tests and generate not covered cases

Symbolic execution application:

• analyze code structure, check if too many mocks are made and tell user: code is too coupled f.e.

Fuzzing improvements - self-education algorithms:

• remember successful mutations and try them first
• settings/parameters can be adjusted during execution
• or there can be warm-up execution to find better parameters - and then working execution with best settings applied

Fuzzing use cases (goals in different runs):

• maximize code coverage
• find all possible errors
• find specific errors (for example CWEs)
• benchmarking of an application
• load testing (in search for weak places)

Code generation improvement:

• add asserts for methods called in mocks
