The error "npm ERR! code 1" and "invalid path" occurs when npm fails to check out a Git commit due to problematic file paths. To fix it:

1. Update npm and Git to the latest versions.
   2.Clean npm cache:
   npm cache clean --force
2. Remove and reinstall dependencies:
   rm -rf node_modules package-lock.json
   npm install
   This should resolve the path issue and allow npm to proceed @dmulik .
