github action stuck trying to get a macos instance

I have this github action https://github.com/eth-cscs/manta/actions/runs/9796136771/job/27060076130 which is stuck and I don't know how to make it work, I canceled the workflow multiple times already but problem persists.
Any idea what the issue is?
