Yet, using a more specific query path:go.mod language:"Go Module" the files are classified as Go Module files and highlighted correctly:

@micha-6 , thank you for your reply! We already discussed the problem with GitHub Linguist maintainers here and concluded that the problem is in GitHub's closed source code. The language detection tool works correctly.

I was recommended to report the issue on this forum.
