In the insights API, what is included in "total number of views"? #136444

To my understanding, the "Total number of views" in GitHub Insights API refers to the number of times users have visited the repository from a web browser only. Hence, it would not include API traffic or raw file downloads. So if Google Colab is using the API to access the repo, it would not be counted in these metrics as it is handled separately. "Clones" refers to the number of times the repository has been cloned using Git ( |

There are insight numbers for "page views" and for "clones", but it's not clear where API traffic is counted.
Specifically I'm interested in whether something like Google Colab (an API consumer) would count towards page views? Or clones? Or if API traffic is counted separately, and therefore missing from the insights API.
Asked another way, are "page views" in insights just web views via github.com/.../blob/...? Or does it include raw and API traffic too?
