I’m trying to use a GitHub app to push changes to a protected branch. After reading this blog post, it seems like this should be possible. I’ve updated my repo settings to allow force pushes specifically for my GitHub app.
I’m using the Update a reference endpoint, but I keep getting the response, “Changes must be made through a pull request,” even when I use the force flag. As you can see in the image below, my access token has the necessary write permissions for content.
Am I missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
