I had set up 2fa for mobile in the case my computer bricked and I needed to use it. The day came, and lo and behold, to use 2fa on mobile requires me to use 2fa to log in.
I had set this up probably a little under a year ago on my android device which has received no major changes or updates since, so I don't think anything could have logged me out or caused it to register as a new device.
Even after burning a recovery code, it looks like I'm going to have to use another to even get it set up again on mobile- although I'm not sure why I should bother since it's clearly not reliable given there's a host of other, unrelated issues with it and other 2fa authenticators on this discussion board.
Should I just plan to use a recovery code each time?
