Codespaces and VSCode Web extension

Web Extensions listed in devcontainer.json customizations.vscode.extensions doesn't seem to be installed in Codespaces like regular vscode extension are done. I suppose because they might be listed as browser instead of vscode but I don't see a way to enable such browser vscode web extension.

The extension doesn't have extensionKind: ["ui"] in the package.json as recommended in the vscode manifest documentation.

Also how to load web extension from vsix in Codespaces ? I only seem to be able to use web extensions from vscode marketplace which doesn't allow testing extensions.
