Hello,
I'm working on my final paper, and part of my research involves measuring the gender ratio in open-source project repositories. Since pronouns are a detail that users can choose to make public on their profiles, I thought this information would be accessible. I was planning on using GitHub's REST API, but after reviewing the documentation, I realized this data is not available in its responses.
I’d like to suggest that a pronouns attribute be added to the available users' endpoint responses. Through my research, I found that many research papers on GitHub data currently use indirect methods to infer gender. Adding this attribute to the API would be immensely beneficial for studies in computing and diversity fields.
Thank you for considering this suggestion!
