I can't tell if it's even corrupted or if it's Windows being stupid, but I randomly had all the images and zip files (which refuse to open or be extracted) in my repository refuse to open in MS Photos or even show up as a preview on GitHub. Photos insists it "doesn't support this file type", while GitHub just has that standard "failed image preview" icon websites use.
I had other issues (TL;DR i tried to fix folder casings with a command I found and that didn't work at all, and it ended up breaking everything for no reason). Ended up replacing that repo with a new version, but the issue still persists. Even grabbed the pics from the backups I had and they still seem to be corrupted.
I use GitHub Desktop to manage all my repos, but I'm on the latest version (3.4.8). It's also only affecting images in the repo folder. Everything else is fine (even other pngs I have work fine).
All of the images are for my minecraft modpacks - ranging from item textures to images for the page where you download them - and I've never had anything like this happen until recently. Been using GitHub to store them all for years (but mostly made the repo for the issue tracker).
I attached a non-broken version of the image as example, and here's the GitHub version for reference.
Does anyone know wtf is causing it and how I can fix it? I don't want to lose all these assets to some random error seemingly nobody else has.
