Font rendering issue on android

GitHub doesn't render monospace fonts correctly on android. Both in the app and via the web browser (I have tried chrome,edge,Firefox,...). Looking on line this issue seems to be due to the monospace fonts that is pre installed on Android is missing gliphs or has an issue rendering whitespace. This is a big issue when looking at readmes or docs that have ASCII/Unicode drawings or boxes. They become misaligned and it makes them impossible to read. This digrades the experience of using GitHub. This doesn't happen on the desktop or apple.

Looking online it seems that others have resolved this issue in their app be including their own fonts and used them in the rendering of monospace fonts.

I am using a Samsung s21 ultra on the latest update, but I have also had this issue on a Asus tablet and a Google pixel phone
