I take this is a feature but a pretty dumb one especially since you cannot disable this. I do have both email and github notifications but despite me not using gmail (which prefetches images to combat beacon tracking) nor me using a client with mail preview my notifications on Github are always marked as read even without me ever opening the mail.
Since I use the email notifications mostly as a record I am missing a lot of things and respond weeks later because I simply don't get notifications on github since years now.
Is the only way to make notifications work to disable email notifications entirely? How do I even figure out what is causing the notifications to be marked as read? It might be some git client with github integration but I just want an option to disable notification sync
