I would like to change my GitHub username but want to ensure I follow the correct process and understand the implications (e.g., broken links, repositories, etc.).

Could someone guide me through the steps or share any best practices to avoid issues during this process?

Click on your profile picture in the top-right corner of the page, then select Settings from the dropdown menu.
In the left sidebar of the Settings page, click on Account.
Find the Change username section and click on the Change username button.
A pop-up dialog will appear with important information about what happens when you change your username. Make sure to read this carefully.
Click on "I understand, let's change my username" to proceed.
Type in your desired new username in the provided field.
Click on Change my username to finalize the process.
