RE this control for changing the order of entries in a single-select field:

Until recently, I could just grab an entry in the list and drag it up or down.

1. Grab.
2. Drag.
3. Drop.

Now I have to:

1. Click the three dots.
2. Select Advanced Move.
3. Pick an action from the list.
4. Type a position. (This is a type-and-select, but you have to start by typing. It's not just a droplist of all values.)
5. Click Move.

The new approach is presumably better in some way or it wouldn't have been added. The only thing that comes to mind is that this is better in terms of accessibility and for touch screens, and those aren't nothing. But it's a lot more work if you are using a mouse, stylus/pencil, or touchpad for input. For example, I just created a field with nine options, adding them as I thought of them. I now have to Tetris those options into the required order one by one using five clicks each.

The new approach was not intuitive at all, and I couldn't find any documentation (or issues or discussions) about the new approach under the name "Advanced move" so had to go into an old test project and trial-and-error my way to understanding.

Please reinstate drag and drop as a parallel alternate approach.

Barring that:

1. Add an option to alpha-sort all entries for the field automatically.
2. Change the Action and Move to position fields. For Action, just have Before and After. For Move to position, just have a droplist of the option labels that are valid for the selected action.
