Recently, I noticed that submodules for this git repo has are all at initial commit despite having some content pushed earlier to them! It is especially weird that accessing submodules from the website yields initial committed repos, but accessing the links in .gitmodules file opens repositories with some more content!
Here are the steps I followed:
The following steps are reproducible.
$ git clone —recurse-submodules https://github.gatech.edu/SonificationLab/GraphIngestionEngineFall2024 $ ls GraphIngestionEngineFall2024/GIE-metrics/ # will show only README! README.md
$ cat .gitmodules … [submodule "GIE-metrics"] path = GIE-metrics url = https://github.gatech.edu/mfayed8/GIE-metrics
Checking from browser:
Open the repo, then click on GIE-metrics submodule. It will open the following link:
If we remove tree/*, we get the latest version!
Add the old content and try to commit, I get detached head!
Could you please clarify what is going wrong with those steps in cloning the latest versions of those repositories ?!
Thank you so much.
