Hi @IlaySkutelsky, Thank you for your question about confirming that your GitHub Copilot extension is using your organization's Business plan rather than the free plan. This is an important security and privacy concern for company code. You can verify which GitHub Copilot plan your VS Code extension is using through the following methods:
Regarding plan differences and data privacy, you can refer to these official resources:
Important to note from the Copilot Business documentation:
If you still have concerns about which plan is active, your organization administrator can directly confirm your status, or you can contact GitHub Support for further verification steps. Hope this helps clarify how to confirm your Copilot plan! Let me know if you have any additional questions. Best regards, |

How can I confirm that the Copilot extension is using the Business plan that is connected to my account and not the free plan?
I'm asking especially to protect the privacy and security of my company's code.
Upon installing the Copilot extension on my IDE (VSCode) I could connect it to my account and have it run immediately, I'm assuming using the free plan. After purchasing the Business plan I could continue to use the same extension with the same account connected but I could not see anywhere a confirmation of what plan I'm currently using. This raised my concerns that the extension will send back to Microsoft my data and code, as par the free plan terms and not according to the Business plan terms.
How can I confirm that the extension is using the correct plan?
Understandably I can't use the service I'm already paying for without confirming my company's code's privacy and security.
