Multiple Repo Owners - Regular Individual Github

Whenever I create a Github repo on a personal account (non Github-Enterprise), the repos enforce that there is only one singular owner that is able to add collaborators. Are there any ongoing developments to allow for repos created on a personal Github account to have multiple owners that way when we want to add collaborators to projects, there isn't dependency on one singular owner and a need to migrate the project to Enterprise?

there is, create an Org first, add members and you can add owners other than yourself

you can even turn your personal account to an Org, so you can do that, but you'll be losing your personal account, so as for me, simply create another Org

But wouldn't that cause me to have to transfer an existing repo that's not in an Org to the newly created Org and that could mess up with my existing permissions? I meant to ask, "without having to create and transfer an existing repo to an Org", is there a way to have a repo with multiple owners that way just to add collaborators, one person doesn't have to always go in and add the collaborators.

Simple answer: No, there isn't.
