    Based on own invention, and actual finding:

    The ability to integrate such files into repository appears of significance.

    Here propose 1 possible representation scheme based on ".gitmodules".

    Mostly follows the syntax definition in [ https://git-scm.com/docs/git-config#_syntax ].
    But with dedicated optimization for this usage.

    3 added parameters:
[ "raw"
    Disable speculative conversion on links typically representing file/directory.
    Unnecessary if the link returns the raw file directly. ]

[ "errorReplace"
    By default, resolving error would make the system consider the entry invalid and rise a warning (implemented client-side) for confirmation.
    "errorReplace" disabled entries always retrieve the linked whatsoever regardless.

    Normally the version at last successful ".gitmodules" commit (or user instructed sync) should be cached, and used on error. ]

    Disabled entries update only when instructed.
    Similar to the "branch" option, but may apply more generally. ]
