For the time being, the best solution is to avoid displaying images with transparency in a readme.md. It's simply not ready for prime-time. |

I want to display a image with a transparent background in a README.md. The image contains black text. Thus in dark mode it is unreadable. How can I fill white behind the image? Adding background-color style attributes does nothing.
Please see my MWE here.
I'm well aware of this feature, which doesn't help when you don't have a dark-mode version of an image.
Thanks!
