There could be a few different reasons why you are experiencing issues creating a GitHub protection rule for your master branch. Some possible causes include: A temporary server issue: GitHub is a widely used platform and there may be occasional server issues that cause temporary disruptions to service. If this is the case, you may want to wait a bit and try again later. Your account does not have the necessary permissions: To create a protection rule for your master branch, you must have admin permissions for the repository. If you are not the repository owner or do not have admin permissions, you will not be able to create a protection rule. There may be an issue with the web browser you are using: Some web browsers might have issue with some of the Github functionalities. Try using a different browser to see if that resolves the issue. There might be an issue with your internet connection: A weak or unstable internet connection can cause issues with loading pages on GitHub. Make sure your internet connection is stable and try again. It might be also good to check the Github status page to see if there's any known issue that could affect your case: https://www.githubstatus.com/ If none of these solutions work, you can contact Github support to report the issue and get more help. |

I am trying to create a Github protection rule for my master branch. While it worked 2 hours ago, for the last 2 hours it does not. I click "create" and nothing happens. Anyone knows why that is?
I tried clicking on setting I had not tried before and it worked for 2 of them but nothing works anymore. I logged in from a different account and I cannot apply rules from that account to my repository either.
