Google Search Console still shows "Discovered – currently not indexed" after four months

Hi,

My blog has been online for four months, and still barely shows up on Google search results*, because most of its content is not indexed by Google:

49 pages — most of the articles on the blog — are Discovered – currently not indexed:

Google has discovered all the pages, in parts thanks to the sitemap that I have provided multiple times and is read correctly:

According to Google, Discovered - currently not indexed means:

The page was found by Google, but not crawled yet. Typically, Google wanted to crawl the URL but this was expected to overload the site; therefore Google rescheduled the crawl. This is why the last crawl date is empty on the report.

So my question is: does the fact that GitHub Pages hosts many websites mean that Google can potentially never crawls a particular site, because after having crawled hundreds of others sites it decides that GitHub had enough load and stops crawling?

I've set up a blog and a few project documentation websites on GitHub Pages. Strangely enough, I'm encountering the same problem across all of them. Google appears to be indexing only a small portion of the pages. I've been asking myself the same question as @Zwyx. This means GitHub Pages hosted websites are not indexed and attract very little traffic.

Even after a few more months, some of my blog articles were still not indexed. So I manually requested page indexing. To do it, enter a URL in the search field "Inspect any URL", then click "Request indexing". You'll have to do it for each URL you'd like to see indexed.

@Zwyx @aalmada @danywebxx hey, I'm experiencing the very same thing. Are any of you by chance not using Google Analytics?

I'm not using Google Analytics, and I'm starting to think that if I did, the pages would be indexed automatically. A couple of years ago, I did host my website on GitHub Pages and I used Google Analytics at the time. Pages were always indexed automatically without me having to do anything about it.
