Electrik's Updates #38

An update: There are still a couple of dependencies that electrik uses, which do not support L11. I am waiting for these dependencies to release a stable version before I release the next stable version. You might face issues while installing Electrik out of the box. Please refer to #37 for solutions. I'll be updating the README soon adding these additional steps. And Thank you everyone who is supporting this project <3 |

Thought, I would share an update on the project. For a long time I was confused between Wordpress, Static HTML, Headless CMS for the main site. I wanted to merge the documentation for Electrik from Gitbook to the main site. I didn't like the management of two domains and it's content. So I installed Wordpress. And I felt it is too bloated for Electrik. Last week, I had an epiphany - Why not use Laravel and export a static site. I loved it the idea. Digged into Jigsaw. And failed! So I decided to move ahead with custom installation. I am working on it currently, trying to move documentation to the main site itself. Now that's out of the way, I also realised that I needed to update Slate. It's outdated. Has chaotic code. Doesn't support dark mode properly as many of you have pointed out. So I am going to spend next full month on this. After I have released the Slate, I'll get back to Electrik as it will give me a solid foundation to build on top of. Ref: Happy coding! |

Hello people!
First thank you for supporting and loving Electrik!
So, over the past few months, there has been a lot of activity that has been happening in Laravel community due to the release of L10, including the packages that Electrik use and depend on.
I was thinking of waiting for the right time to let the dust settle. It turned out to be non productive. And all the development on the project just stopped. Partly due to my commitments elsewhere, partly due to the approach.
I am still thinking and working on a way to get around this and keep the development going. But Electrik is here to stay!
I'll keep you guys posted on developments.
P.S. For people who want to use Livewire 3 and L10, please use the latest commit from development branch.
EDIT:
You can also keep an eye on project's roadmap.
