I propose a new feature is worked on, that I only thought of, when trying to decide how to wipe my windows tablets and start from scratch with Linux underneath. I realized, Linux Mint is missing a feature, but "could" have it if it wanted. I'm proposing first, and foremost, that it be provided in cinnamon as major focus, although it would be nice in other DEs too. What is it? I think Windows 10 got a tablet mode right, when they implemented it. I'm proposing, that although cinnamon should stay mostly the same, by default, that a tablet mode feature gets baked into it in the near future. What would an open source and non-windows tablet mode be like? Well, we could first choose another name, if we wanted.
Second, it would basically, at a minimum, rather than trying to copy windows, turn itself into a more modern (or at least used on ubuntu) Gnome, when enabled, while being classic cinnamon when not enabled. It should be easy to get to, rather than having to go to a bunch of settings, even WITH control panel, when needed. Feel free other than that, to make it a creative solution employing all the open source software's enguinutiy, rather than dual and mundane like Windows 10. Make it so good, people want to switch to cinnamon and want to switch to Linux Mint, because it's easier to operate than windows 10, when in that mode, while mirroring classics when not in that mode. I think the licenses are compatible, so you could just use actual gnome code in this contraption. I don't like gnome enough to switch all the time, but this "at the click of a button" thing, would be nice, so that I can keep the same distro on my tablets.
