Colour options in preferences dialog have no effect on focal #23

I fixed the preferences dialog but the colour settings do not affect anything on 20.04, they are defined by the appearance settings of the OS.

@mmattamala mentioned in #29 (comment) that some of the colour setting functions are deprecated

While they work in Noetic, the override_background_color and override_color methods are also deprecated in favor of CSS-based formatting
