Las rutas 1 a 7 de República Dominicana conforman su red de carreteras troncales. Estas rutas tienen un diseño de escudo único con una combinación de colores similar al escudo interestatal de EE. UU. Las rutas 10 y superiores pertenecen a la red de carreteras secundarias, representadas por círculos blancos con texto y borde negros.

Actualmente, no existen relaciones route=road para las carreteras numeradas en la República Dominicana. Americana no puede apoyar estas rutas si aún no han sido trazadas en las relaciones. Un esquema de etiquetado sugerido sería:

• route=road, network=DO:troncal, ref=3 para la vía troncal RD-3
• route=road, network=DO:secundaria, ref=44 para la vía secundaria RD-44

Routes 1 through 7 of the Dominican Republic comprise its trunk highway network. These routes have a unique shield design with a color scheme similar to that of the US Interstate shield. Routes 10 and above belong to the secondary highway network, represented by white circles with black text and border.

Currently, there are no route=road relations for numbered highways in the Dominican Republic. Americana can't support these routes if they haven't been mapped in relations yet. A suggested tagging scheme would be:
