When testing the back-end with VisIt, I get a SIGSEGV when trying to do a device inititialization/release more than once. The other back-ends (visgl, visrtx, helide) don't crash when performing the same tests with VisIt.

I'm currently doing some more troubleshooting to rule out anything on my end. As mentioned, there are no issues with the other back-ends.
