Original report (archived issue) by Steve Peters (Bitbucket: Steven Peters, GitHub: scpeters).

Since pull request #2120 and pull request #2155, modifying physics properties via gzclient causes an assertion (branches gazebo7 and default):

Assertion failed: (::gazebo::msgs::Physics_Type_IsValid(value)),
function set_type, file gazebo/msgs/physics.pb.h, line 371.

I've added a testcase to UNIT_ModelListWidget_TEST in branch model_list_test that reproduces this failure.

I have a fix and will submit a pull request shortly.
