Haven't tested it on anything but my Nook yet, so not sure if it's a general 2.1 problem or specific to the Nook. I'll hopefully get a chance to test a VM or such by the end of the weekend.

This behaviour is right. The detail view of an item is always in an dark theme. It's because it's based on an html template and this template is dark. In a future version I want to implement, that the user can modifiy this html template e.g. css styles, page flow.

In an future version I'm trying to build an css style for an light themed detail view.
