When I restart my windows 7 machine with ownCloud desktop client, it also restarts the virtual machines on my desktop. These virtual machines are my ownCloud sync. During the time the system is booting and I am loading the VMs, the ownCloud client pops up and says I have no connection. If I open status, there is nothing in the status window, and the network URL is listed, but with no user.
I also get an intrusive popup about the network connection, better to just change the system try icon to red.
Once the server is started, the client doesn't continue to try to connect, it simply shows a blank sync status. Then if I quit and restart the client, it locates the old configuration and network connections and voila, it works again.
The client should not require a user to quit / reopen the software to connect to a good server connection. While some of the network error handling has improved, this one last step (when the computer restarts and the server is not there) is also necessary.
Reproduce:
Windows 7
ownCloud 1.2.0Pre Dec 15 build (near 1.1.4)
Connect ownCloud to a VM running on your local machine
Sync a folder or two, let it complete
Shut down the computer and restart
once the machine restarts, boot the VMs
Observe the sync client not finding the server after restart, and the blank sync status window
Then quit the client and restart it, it will now connect
