When autocompletion for sharing is off, would still be nice to propose the groups the user is member of

the autocomplete for sharing or the autocomplete in the members panel ?

Autocomplete in the sharing dialog. In the members panel it would not make sense as only users are suggested there, right?

Hmm indeed.

Then autocomplete sharing would need a special option for the customgroups app to say "my groups are exempt from autocomplete disabling" or so. Sounds a bit hacky.

Might fit in somehow with the other concept about "restrict groups from sharing" which also brings some kind of execption cases.

Yup somehow like this. Will link it to the concept.
