Just confirming you are talking about the latest git clone.

There is an error from start about some unmet dependencies did you tried running
sudo apt-get -f install and then re running the setup.

Besides that the last error is due to the fact that postgresql is not installed and was not mandated so far. I suppose @tunnelshade did some changes recently and that should sort this out.

This was meant for the OWTF 0.45 version and I haven't tested it yet for the latest OWTF and new Samurai-WTF versions. I'll do it in the next week probably. Sorry :(

Maybe till then someone can verify the Samurai -WTF changes and edit the install script accordingly?
Thanks! :)

anantshri on #owtf: This reminds me that we should have a version / last commit date / fingerprint as output of installation script. Makes debugging a hell lot easier.

Just tried installing the latest version of OWTF from Git on Samurai WTF 2.1 - twice. Seemed to fail both times (or at least the messages don't sound "all ok"). Amongst other messages maybe these are most significant:

Error: You need to install postgresql-server-dev-X.Y for building a server-side extension or libpq-dev for building a client-side application.

Command python setup.py egg_info failed with error code 1 in /tmp/pip_build_root/psycopg2
Storing debug log for failure in /home/samurai/.pip/pip.log

And ~/.owtf/db.cfg doesn't seem to exist so can't do the next step in the installation instructions.

@clerkendweller Unfortunately, samurai WTF installation is broken, we hope to fix it before the end of next week. In the meantime, please consider giving OWTF a shot on Kali Linux (http://www.kali.org/), things are reportedly working better there at the moment. This issue will be closed once we are confident the Samurai WTF installation is working smoothly again, so feel free to watch it for progress. Thank you for your patience and sorry about this

Thank you very much for your information. I will do as you suggest.

Just an FYI, I'm getting the same errors noted here on Kali 1.0.9a 64bit.

Tried the recommended way, git clone, and trying to install several things that appear to be missing. postgresql-server-dev-X.Y, libpq-dev, psycopg2, won't install.

In the meantime, are there confirmed good versions of Kali+owtf?

Hey @Paraplastic

Recently kali mirrors are giving 404 issues. So please refer this article to fix it. Good versions of Kali+owtf might not be there since all the versions of Kali use the same mirrors. Let me know if you need anything else.

Hey @tunnelshade

Someday I'll remember to update /etc/apt/sources.list whenever I start from a fresh build. It's working now. Ty!

Disregard my earlier comment.
