@SilenceShine I think you might have raised this issue against the wrong project.

apache/kafka-native images belong to the Apache Kafka project (https://kafka.apache.org/documentation/#docker). If you are having issues with its images, I suggest https://lists.apache.org/list.html?users@kafka.apache.org is probably the place to go for help.

This project (which predates KIP-974) publishes a different Apache Kafka native image (based on Quarkus) to ogunalp/kafka-native. If you are trying to use it, use one of these images in your Kubernetes deployment.
