NVIDIA India's HPC Peer Communities #43
Comments
Hey this is a cool initiative.Lets think of applying for it and take advantage of perks from NVIDIA. @palash25 can you share the link to the details of program so that we can have a look at the aim of the program ? |
@saiamrit I am sorry but I don't have a link only the mail |
@p-society/2019-batch @p-society/2020-batch , we should apply for this. |
He told me about that few days back. Actually every year professors from different colleges apply to this. Some selected institutes based on the projects gets support from Nvidia |
okay cool @ankitjha97 @hdidwania @shivank01 @AbhiRepository lets have a look into it.I guess Ajaya Sir might be having some idea about it because I remember once he had mentioned about NVIDIA offering him some hardware. |
@ankitjha97, any reply regarding the Intel application?? Yes, Ajaya Sir can help , but the important thing is we have show good projects that are being carried out in our college. |
This is different than the scheme where NVIDIA provides free GPUs to professors/researchers (https://developer.nvidia.com/academic_gpu_seeding).
|
@arijeetsat , no email yet. |
If there is no progress on this and if it is not a viable option for us then please someone close this. |
It is viable option and still a issue we are keeping an eye on, lets not close it. |
Fine then I have assigned you to it. So that you can keep an eye on it and update it when the time comes you can close this 😄 |
Hi, just chiming in, the PI needs to have a PhD degree to apply for this. We had thought to get a Nvidia P5000 for Visioneering through this but Ajaya Sir still hasn't got his PhD yet. |
I got this email from NVIDIA India a few days ago. It goes like this:
I remember reading Anirudh Bose's blog post about the HPC cluster at our college
I don't know why I'm raising an issue about this but it might help ML/DL folks get access to high performance machinery or help out people interested in HPC
Should we as a college apply to be a part of this community? I need everyone's opinion as I don't really know much about this subject or this program and it would also be nice if someone could do some research on this program to know whether this would be a good step or not.
